This Portfolio

This site is a project like any other on it, so it gets a file of its own. I designed it, I am building it, and I am writing about it while it happens. The stack is TanStack Start with server-side rendering, Contentful running headless underneath, GSAP handling the motion, and Railway serving the whole thing.

Notes from the experiment

Why rebuild it

My old portfolio was built in Framer, and it did its job for a while. Then it sat for two years without an update, and a portfolio that stands still is quietly lying about you. The strongest work of my career happened in those two years: in-house product design, NDA client platforms, full rebrands, and none of it was on the site. The UX had aged too. It showed projects the way a template shows projects, with no good answer for work under NDA, no way to filter by what I actually do, and case studies that read the same no matter what kind of work they described.

What I am building instead

This version treats the portfolio as a product. Every project lives in Contentful as structured content: one model that powers both the professional work section and these FAFO files, classified across services, industries, technologies, roles, and more, so adding a project or a whole new category never means touching code. The site renders server-side with TanStack Start for speed and real SEO, GSAP carries the motion, and Railway runs it. NDA work gets a first-class pattern instead of an apology, and case studies are built from before-and-after comparisons where the story lives on the images themselves.

Where it stands

In progress, and being built in the open. The write-up will grow as the site ships, which feels right for a FAFO file: this one is the workshop, not the showroom.
