About — designer, developer, both

I learned to build so I could design better.

Eight years across UX, UI, and front-end — starting as a web developer and never putting the editor down. Understanding what an interaction costs to build changed what I proposed, how I argued for it, and how much of it survived to production. Design is still the craft. Engineering is what keeps it honest.

Off the clock

Away from the desk.

Mornings start with a coffee lakeside, I find that I work best when I get up early and start my day outside with some sunshine.

I collect vinyl I absolutely don't have shelf space for, spend more time fishing than I should, and plan road trips around diners rather than destinations.

Curiosity is the throughline. The same instinct that makes me take apart an unfamiliar app makes me take the back roads, try the weird item on the menu, and ask one more question than is polite.

It's also, not coincidentally, what makes the research phase my favorite part of the job.

Eight years in, I've learned burnout is a design flaw — and I don't ship flawed systems, including my own, so I absolutely silence the Slack notifications after 5pm so that I can unwind with my family and cook a healthy meal.

Clients and employeers get better decisions from a designer who slept, hiked, fished, cooked a clean meal, and thought about their problem in the shower than they do from one who answered messages at midnight on a Saturday. I love my work and deeply value my team memebers and because of that I take the space and give the space that I do, so that we can all be our very best at work.

Boundaries make better work

The balance isn't a perk. It's the operating system.

01

Deep-work mornings

The hard design problems get the best hours of the day, and everything else arranges itself around that. It is the single habit most responsible for the quality of the work.

02

Demo Fridays

Every week closes with something you can click. Progress you can see beats progress you're told about, and it lets a team correct course while correcting is still cheap.

03

Offline weekends

Rested judgment is the thing being hired. Monday-me is sharper because Sunday-me was on a trail — eight years in, burnout is a design flaw I've stopped shipping.

The work I brag about

One household name, and one I can't even name.

Salesforce

Design at enterprise scale

Contract design and development inside one of the world's largest SaaS ecosystems — where a single pattern decision reaches millions of users. It taught me systems thinking at a scale most designers never get to practice, and how to move fast inside a very big machine.

Mercor Intelligence — lab under NDA

Interface design for a frontier AI lab

I contract in web and digital interface design, frontend development, and advanced model pressure testing for a top frontier AI lab. Work offered only to people with deep, verifiable expertise — and it keeps my own standards razor-sharp.

What I actually do

Design through to production.
